COIN CONCEPT LAWS OF OPPOSITES

                               COIN CONCEPT LAWS OF OPPOSITES
Primitive Africans use of pebbles for bartering as a means to have a symmetrical final result in the exchange of goods required an “equal sign” ( = ) between goods to its right and something else to its left. That balance gradually led to such abstract concepts as “Fairness” and Justice. Hence, in early Africa the “equal sign” became a keystone of math. When both numbers and symbols (e.g. pebbles) were expressed in certain manners of quantities, it was called Algebra. The “equal sign” instituted the Law of Opposites Concept when African Sages discerned this to be the means by which humans’ minds create thoughts. They also inferred Opposites to be the means by which the Cosmic Mind (God) brings entities into being and sustains Creation. Each opposite is needed to make known the presence of its partner. A way to illustrate this is to recall on a cold day you were not aware of your ears being cold until you took off your gloves and placed your warm hand on it. The Hermetic (Tehuti) Principle of Polarity or Doctrine of Opposites says the Cosmos was founded upon contradictions: “Everything is Dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in Nature [because of the Law of Correspondence], but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled.” Ancient Africans confirmed this by noting all around them the dualities, pairs, and contrasts of life–hot/cold, light/dark, night/day, male/female (Asante, Egyptian, p. 81). In short, each creation is composed of two opposite, but complementary forces, which, when synthesized, unite in a balance, and form a transcendental harmony (Order), as seen in humans and Nature.
So, in Ma’atian ethics and African Ontology (the study of the essence of Being or what is or what exists) the Law of Opposites is pervasive throughout all aspects. It incorporates much of what is in the Coin Concepts, especially the positive and negative aspects of Qualities. Cosmic Opposites stem from Primary Qualities (i.e. Archetypes derived from the mind of God) and, as they proceed, the correspondence of each on the lower planes is manifesting as dual, or opposite, of each Primary Quality. The order in which the ranks are maintained refers to the several planes upon which the Cosmos is manifest. In each case the opposite is produced of whatever is ideally created. The Greek Pythagoras (C5 BC) plagiarized these African fundamental 10 oppositions: (1) Limited/Unlimited; (2) Odd/Even; (3) One/Many; (4) Masculine/Feminine; (5) Right/Left; (6) Straight/Crooked; (7) Rest/Motion; (8) Light/Darkness; (9) Square/Oblong; and (10) Good/Evil. Since the primary constituents of these things are of a dissimilar and opposite nature, a bond of Harmony is required to unite them and cause them to be productive. But, how they are productive is in various ways.
An example in Cosmic Creation, indicated by the Coin Concepts, is that in its Archetypes’ correspondence manifestations on lower planes of Cosmic Existence of Qualities or Quantities are the equivalent for principles fashioning Complementary Coin Equals. A given Cosmic Complementary Equal can only exist through its opposite and both must rise together as a unity—white is not present without black, nor black without white. By contrast, if only one duality aspect is present on lower planes without the other, one is dealing with an Illusion—like looking at only one side of a coin. Knowledge/ignorance and right/wrong actions have respective parts in human Soul development—neither can manifest without the other–for every advancement must be confronted by its opposite, that it might strive against it and overcome it. To regard these Equal but opposite Qualities like wheels on a chariot is the way ones Soul is carried forward in its progress heavenward. Eventually, from forward progress, one reaches the Ocean of Nun realm, the one great Reality where there is no duality. Apart from this process of the Complementary aspect of the Law of Opposites, for the necessity of Good to be recognized it must have something to compare it against. Unconditional Love and Evil are not polar opposites and thus not equal. Yet, Evil is contributory to enabling people to recognize and appreciate Love. Ones Free Will is the harmony by which one exercises the Divine power of judgment, and accepts that or something else as ones master. Contrary Opposites cause good/bad strife and its effects and consequences. jabaileymd.com
